504 Sorrow
Have you ever felt sorry, despair, and just plain sad? Well join the human race. But if we know that there is value in our sorrow, then maybe
it won’t feel so bad and last so
long.
SORROW :
Websters definition: Consuming grief, mourning, birth pains, mental or physical suffering
or pain, anguish, causes sadness and grief. SORROW is sometimes described like a little child with their mother
in large store and all of the sudden they get separated. The child not only experiences fear,
but great SORROW great pain and
sadness. Because we were separated from
our Creator, the human race experiences SORROW .
Hebrews 12: What Satan intends for evil God turns into a
blessing. God uses sorrow as a means of
discipline for us. Jesus went
through it and God disciplines those who He loves. Satan brings the SORROW but God uses it. Hebrews 5:7 Jesus prayed to The Father with
strong crying and tears and He was heard because The Father knew His heart, He
shrank from the horrors of separation from the bright presence of The Father.
Luke 22:44 Jesus experienced SORROW
in the Garden of Gethsemene when He thought about being separated from
His Father.
Prophecies That Sorrow will end
Isaiah 35:1-10 is an Old Testament prophecy of The Lord
coming with vengeance on the ones who have brought SORROW to His people, and that His people will
be released from SORROW and have
everlasting joy, SORROW will flee away !
Isaiah 25:7 He
will destroy the covering of the face that is cast over the heads of all people
in SORROW , He will swallow up death in victory and wipe away all tears of
SORROW .
Isaiah 53:1 Who
has believed The Word ? verse 3 He was despised and rejected, a Man of SORROW s
and pains, and acquainted with grief and sickness; and like One from Whom men
hide their faces he was despised, and we did not appreciate His worth or have
an esteem for Him, Surely He has borne our grieves and carried our SORROWS and pains of punishment. Not only did Jesus know rejection and
sorrow when all of His friends forsook Him, but on The Cross He bore it
all. The ultimate SORROW took place.
Revelation 21:4
God will wipe away every tear....no more SORROW .
We get more than just getting rid
of sorrow, WE GET EVEN !!
Revelation 18:6-8
Repay to her (the demons of spiritual Babylon) double what she has done,
she said I will never see SORROW , so shall her SORROW , plagues, afflictions,
calamities, pestilence, anguish and famine come upon her in a single day, etc.
Much like Job whose "captivity was reversed". What we suffer eventually goes back on
to the demons, but in a double portion!
This is worth reading !
The Fruit of SORROW - The real good news is that our
SORROW works like a seed, it actually produces a supernatural increase ! Psalms 126 They who sow in tears shall
reap in joy and singing. He who
goes forth bearing seed and weeping shall doubtless come again with rejoicing,
bringing his sheaves with him. Without a doubt, a seed is the ONLY thing in
this universe that will cause increase of matter. If you go through your SORROW bearing the seed of The Word
of God, your SORROW actually becomes part of the seed producing process. You may be rich and not even know it!
Isaiah 53:11-12 Jesus won the fruit of SORROW; It says that the fruit of SORROW is the riches of kings ,
making many righteous, or making them the children of God, and obtaining
vengeance on our spiritual enemies.
Is 53:11 Amp - He shall see the fruit of the travail of His soul and be
satisfied; by His knowledge of Himself, which He possesses and imparts to
others, shall my uncompromisingly righteous One, my Servant, justify and make
many righteous, upright and in right standing with God; for He shall bear their
iniquities and their guilt, with the consequences, says the Lord.
SORROW is real,
it will come whether we like it or not....it does not mean that God has left us
or that we are unspiritual. The
remedy however is in our mouth, it is in our heart, for if we believe in our
hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we will be saved from SORROW . But faith comes by hearing God speak to
us personally, and that comes by hearing THE WORD.
I remember experiencing sorrow when I was 5 years old. My mother took me with her to go
shopping in a large department store.
I always held her hand so as not to get lost in the crowd. I will never forget the feel of that
hand, the security and warmth that it gave me. All of the sudden she was gone! I could not find her anywhere. I ran and screamed to look
for her, but she was nowhere. All
I could see were people that looked like giants. I also saw some kids who were also without their mothers,
and they were having a good time playing.
They just laughed at me.
Two things that I learned 50 years later about this incident. First, my mother was more concerned
about finding me than I was. Also,
those kids did not have the intimate relationship with their mother that I
had. I was dependent upon her. This is the way it is with God. We come
to depend upon His warm hand, and
when we don’t feel it, we feel
sorrow. But remember, He is more
concerned than we are. His hand
will return.
What does God expect us to do
when SORROW knocks on our door?
Stay in the Psalms 91 Secret Place. That means being like Jesus; like the
full armor of Ephesians 6, like the fruit of the Spirit in (Galatians 5:22-23).
But the fruit of the Spirit is: love, joy, peace, long-suffering,
kindness, goodness, faith, meekness, self-control; against such things there is
no law. Like the cleft in
the Rock in Song of Solomon 2:14. O My dove, in the clefts of the rock, in
the secret places of the stairs, let Me see your face, let Me hear your voice;
for your voice is sweet, and your face is beautiful.
This is when living the Christian life is so important. During this time we stick the
Sword of the Spirit out of the Hiding place and run it into the enemy; like
Moses's Rod, The Word !
But don't be like the people in Isaiah's Chapter 53 who
considered The Word, Jesus of no worth.
When you consider the Word of no worth, or not worthy to be trusted,
then you are rejecting Jesus like
the prophecy in Isaiah said. (Isaiah 53:3). He was
despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering.
Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him
not.
