Sowing and reaping.

According to Galatians 6:7-8, Genesis 1:11 and 8:22, God put the law of sowing and reaping into effect on this planet. It works and it is powerful!

Satan sows seeds to ruin our lives. In Matthew 13:1-23 Jesus told His disciples a parable about the Word of God being planted in their hearts as a seed. He explained how it worked and how Satan tried to keep it from working. Then He explained that not only would Satan try to steal the Word out of their hearts, but that he (Satan) also was a seed sower.

"Another parable He put forth to them, saying: ‘The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way" (Matthew 13:24,25).

Words are the most powerful seeds that exist. Satan plants words into our lives through a whole variety of media to tell us that we are no good and not worthy of God’s love, and that God does not love us and care for us. He plants seeds that tell us that God will not provide for our needs, and that we need to go to idols, ancestral spirits or we must use our soul power to carry on in this life. When these seeds grow we end up with a crop of false identity; we become performance oriented and end up in condemnation.

Notice Satan planted the seeds secretly while the men slept. Satan works in the dark but God works in the light. Notice also that the men were sleeping (spiritually) when the seeds were planted. You don’t know what is going on when you are sleeping. If you are sleeping spiritually, Satan is planting seeds into your life, and the tragedy is you don’t even know it!

We need to do the opposite of sleep and go to work on our relationship with the Word of God, Jesus, and allow Him to plant seeds into our lives.

Notice that in the parables in Matthew 13, there is no middle ground. Seed is being constantly planted, it is either good or bad seed.
